Range extension up to 30 km |

In the description of our products PT-SU and PT-US you have learned how to extend the range of an BRI-Interface up to 8 km. For some applications, e. g. to cover a large city area these distances can be more than 8 km.
For this application NovaTec has developed the PT-Repeater , whereby the range of the BRI-Interface can be extended up to 30 km, depending on the type of cable. A requirement for the use of the PT-Repeater is, that access can be made to the cable (at around half the distance) to install the PT-Repeater .
Based on a BRI-Interface, coming from a PABX, the first device in this chain is the PT-SU, which converts the BRI-Interface into a U-Interface. This U-Interface is connected with the copper wire. After a maximum range of 8 km the cable is connected with the input side of the PT-Repeater. The output side of the PT-Repeater is connected to the next length of the copper wire. After the next 8 km another PT-Repeater can be used in the same way as the first one. After a maximum range of 8 km behind the second PT-Repeater comes the PT-US, which converts the U-Interface back into the original BRI-Interface. With a sufficient cable profile the 8 km distances can be extended up to 10 km, so the complete range increases up to 30 km.
The PT-Repeater comes in a water resistant housing and can therefore be installed in places with difficult climatic conditions. As an option the PT-Repeater is also available in an aluminium casing, allowing the PT-Repeater to be buried below ground.
For the power supply either a mains power supply unit can be used, or it can be done remotely with use of an USP .
